Paxman at ASCO 2026: Connections, Innovation and Patient Advocacy

12 June 2026

We recently attended another exciting American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO)  Annual Meeting, hosted in Chicago.

This year, what stood out most was how focused the conversations were on patient experience. For us, it was an exhibition spent listening, reconnecting and building new relationships.

The growing focus on patient-centred cancer care

One theme came up consistently: how we better support patients through the full experience of treatment. There is a growing recognition that quality of life matters. Not alongside care, but as part of it.

On the Paxman booth, we spoke with teams looking at how supportive care can fit more naturally into their pathways, how it can be introduced earlier, and be made more accessible.

It reflects something we’ve always believed. It is never just about hair. It is about helping patients feel more like themselves during treatment.

Sharing experiences from across the oncology community

This year was one of our busiest ASCO exhibitions to date.

Our team, including CEO Richard Paxman, Emma Russell, Kate Gayhardt, Crista Cody and Reena Patel, were on hand for a steady flow of visitors to the booth, with conversations focused on real-world delivery - how scalp cooling works in practice, what it takes to introduce it, and how other centres are making it part of their offering.

There was also clear interest in how side effects beyond hair loss can be managed. Many of the conversations focused on the wider impact of treatment and how care continues to evolve around the patient experience.

Alongside this, there were early discussions around our work in chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy, including our cryocompression technology, which is progressing through regulatory review. It reflects a wider move towards innovation that supports patients not just during treatment, but throughout their overall experience of care.

We also spent time reconnecting with existing partners, hearing directly about the impact on patients and the challenges still to solve. These conversations continue to shape how we move forward.

Continuing the conversation beyond ASCO

For us, ASCO is a valuable opportunity to strengthen relationships and understand what matters most across the oncology community. It is also a chance to reflect on how far we’ve come, and how much more can be achieved through collaboration.

If you did not get the chance to speak with the team, then click the links below to find out where we’re going next and how to get involved.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, shared insights, and joined us in our mission to make scalp cooling accessible for all.

See you next year, ASCO!
