Claire Paxman Nominated for Lifetime Achievement Award 

Brand Ambassador and Director of Global Training, Claire Paxman, was nominated for the Lifetime Achievement Award last month at The Yorkshire Businesswoman Awards 2025 – a significant and wonderful recognition of her life’s work.  

The Yorkshire Businesswoman Awards 

Taking place on Friday 7th March at The Leeds Marriot Hotel, the event celebrates International Women’s Day by recognising the phenomenal achievements of local women in Yorkshire, who have overcome challenges to succeed in the business world.  

Yorkshire Businesswoman is a digital and printed magazine with a networking membership that launched in 2020 to lift up and shine a deserved spotlight on the hard-working businesswomen of our region. Alongside business success stories, the organisation covers fashion, beauty, entrepreneurship, health, art, food and drink, lifestyle and more.  

A Life-long Mission 

Claire has dedicated over 15 years to Paxman and has been continually focused on educating both clinicians and patients on the benefits and applications of our scalp cooling technology.  

Her commitment to the cause is deeply personal, stemming from the family’s experience with cancer. Her mum, Sue Paxman – a bright and warm woman, full of life – underwent chemotherapy and experienced hair loss, inspiring her family to develop a scalp cooling system. Claire describes the experience of cutting off her mum’s hair as one of the worst things she has ever had to do and part of her mission is to ensure that no one else has to go through it. 

Claire’s journey is marked by many impressive accomplishments, which include, but are not limited to: 

• Achieving a strong online presence, becoming ‘The Big Sister of Scalp Cooling’, where Claire offers support and education to patients on their scalp cooling journeys. Many patients, and even colleagues, look to her for advice or inspiration.  

• Designing and overseeing the implementation and continual improvement of a strong training structure. This includes the Clinical Pioneer Programme, which enables individuals at cancer centres to become the subject matter expert and super user, allowing them to effectively lend best practice advice and disseminate key information to colleagues and peers on scalp cooling, thus helping to increase the knowledge to execute scalp cooling correctly and ensuring the best possible patient outcomes. 

• Developed and implemented our Paxman at Home division of the business which has now treated over 1,500 people at home. 

• Developed and implemented a FOC scalp cooling service for Teenagers & Young Adults in partnership with Project Youth Cancer for whom she is a proud ambassador. 

• More recently, pioneering the development of a new digital training platform, which improves the efficiency and accuracy of training records for cancer centres. This initiative is currently being rolled out in 2025.  

• Contributing heavily to discussions on improving access to our technology, emphasising its importance in comprehensive cancer care. 

• Sharing her mother’s story and legacy across many platforms, with insights about her personal journey.  

• Featuring in a range of interviews, news segments and awareness campaigns to discuss and promote the benefits of scalp cooling technology.   

A humbling honour for Claire 

Upon the announcement of her nomination, Claire said: 

“To say I am shocked and blown away by this is an understatement! But equally, I am feeling incredibly humbled and honoured to be a finalist in the 'Lifetime Achievement Award' for Paxman Scalp Cooling… I want to say a huge thank you to whoever nominated me and also a huge thank you to very prestigious panel of judges for shortlisting me. I am in incredible company with my fellow finalists and would like to wish them all good luck and to all the other finalists in the other categories.”  

Other finalists include Gaynor Faye, Nicky Pattinson, Gillian Robson and Milly Johnson.
