We recently wrapped up an incredible few days at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) 2025 Annual Meeting in Chicago – and what a meeting it was!
This year’s ASCO hall was alive with energy, filled wall to wall with thousands of oncology professionals, researchers, advocates, and industry leaders. The exhibition floor was a hub of innovation, packed with hundreds of booths and stands representing cutting-edge advancements in cancer care.
From meaningful conversations around equitable access to scalp cooling, to celebrating the achievements of industry leaders and sharing moving patient stories, ASCO 2025 was a powerful reminder of why collaboration and networking are so important.
We were thrilled to congratulate Dr. Don Dizon on receiving this year’s Excellence in Equity Award, endowed by the American Cancer Society. Dr. Dizon’s dedication to advancing equitable care is truly inspiring and aligns so closely with our mission to ensure scalp cooling is accessible to all patients who may benefit from it.
Information on how to make scalp cooling more accessible in your cancer centre is available here.
To see the journey Paxman has taken on reimbursement so far and what lies ahead, see pages 30-35 of our annual report.
Throughout the event, the Paxman team, including CEO Richard Paxman, Emma Russell, Jacqueline Olsen BSN RN, MBA, and Jennie Marx, welcomed countless attendees to booth 26023, where we shared the latest on the growing momentum around coding and insurance coverage for scalp cooling.
We were also proud to showcase a deeply personal video on the booth screen, featuring survivor stories from Paxman team members who have themselves experienced cancer, and chemotherapy, and truly understand what hair means to not just patients, but everyone.
Our team had the privilege of attending key sessions and networking events, including the Susan G. Komen Spotlight on Patient Collaboration Reception, Conquer Cancer Council Member Meet & Greet, and the Innovation Partners Networking Reception. These gatherings offered invaluable opportunities to hear directly from patients, researchers, and policy leaders working to bridge the gap between clinical research and real-world patient experience.
We were also honoured to meet with several key opinion leaders throughout the week, including Dr. Eleonora Teplinsky, Dr. Raghav Sundar, and Dr. Sebastian Mondaca, all of whom share our passion for improving quality of life during cancer treatment.
With ASCO 2025 now behind us, we reflect on just how far scalp cooling has come and how much more we can achieve through collaboration. The team are now looking forward to meeting faces old and new with a busy events schedule for the rest of the year.
