Strengthening UK–India Ties During the Prime Minister’s Trade Mission to Mumbai

27 October 2025

CEO Richard Paxman, OBE joined the UK Prime Minister, Rt Hon Sir Keir Starmer KCB KC MP and senior government officials as part of His Majesty’s Government’s Trade Delegation to Mumbai, aimed at deepening UK–India business relations following the landmark UK–India Free Trade Agreement.

HMG Trade Delegation

During the recent mission, the UK delegation, (featuring business leaders from across key sectors such as Rolls-Royce, Barclays Bank, and BP) engaged with Indian industry counterparts to explore opportunities across life sciences, clean technology, and innovation. The programme, hosted at Mumbai’s iconic Taj Mahal Palace, featured sessions led by the Rt Hon Peter Kyle MP, Secretary of State for Business and Trade, and Piyush Goyal, India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry.

The trade mission provided a platform to showcase UK expertise and innovation while building long-term partnerships with Indian businesses, government agencies, and healthcare institutions in one of the world’s fastest-growing markets.

Humbled and honoured to join the trade delegation, Richard Paxman commented:

“Delighted to join our PM Keir Starmer on HMG trade delegation! We have so many opportunities here with Paxman Scalp Cooling and I’m confident the trade deal will be a catalyst for growth!”

The visit also reinforced Paxman’s commitment to expanding its footprint in South Asia and collaborating with Indian healthcare leaders to improve patient well-being.

Meeting with Clinicians and Patients

As part of his visit, Richard Paxman visited Kemp’s Corner M|O|C Cancer Care & Research Centre. There, he met with clinicians, patients, and care teams to gather feedback and user experiences on the Paxman Scalp Cooling System.

The Paxman Scalp Cooling System is now installed at 12 M|O|C Cancer Care & Research Centres across Maharashtra and Gujarat, demonstrating the growing adoption of British medical innovation within India’s rapidly expanding healthcare sector.

Driving Innovation

The trade mission provided a platform for dialogue between UK innovators such as Paxman, and Indian healthcare leaders, laying the groundwork for collaborations that could improve treatment options across the region.

This latest engagement builds on Paxman’s global mission to make scalp cooling accessible to all chemotherapy patients worldwide, with installations already spanning over 60 countries.
