Paxman Scalp Cooling's CEO, Richard Paxman, has been honoured in the first King's Birthday Honours List. Richard has been honoured with an OBE for services to International Trade.
Special honours such as OBE, MBE and CBE are given to recognise people's amazing achievements and service to the country. The awards are handed out twice a year in the UK - once at New Year, and then again on the monarch's official birthday.
It is the second highest ranking Order of the British Empire award and stands for Officer of the Order of the British Empire, awarded to someone for making a great impact in their line of work.
Richard works closely with the Department for Business and Trade as a Northern Powerhouse Export Champion, motivating and assisting other businesses on their export journeys and encouraging them to seize the opportunities offered by trading in a global market.
Humble as ever, Richard said, “It’s an incredible honour and something I'm very proud of. Even though it’s about six weeks ago since I received the letter I’m not sure it’s sunk in yet.
“While I’m very proud, it’s not a recognition for just one person. It’s a recognition for the whole team and the family. My husband Dan is incredibly proud and without his support I wouldn’t be able to do what I do.”
