Paxman has partnered with Capri Construction 426 LLC to secure a nationwide contract, where Paxman will supply scalp cooling systems to the VA's National Healthcare Network. The National Oncology Program (NOP) is the center for cancer care at the VA. Diagnosing and treating more than 56,000 veterans annually, NOP is one of the nation's largest integrated providers of oncology services. 126 VA facilities participate in NPOP, with 18,000 veterans cared for under the program.
VA will provide Paxman scalp cooling systems as needed when requested at VA facilities. Paxman Scalp Cooling equipment met all requirements for an FDA-cleared machine-based system that will be installed in VA infusion clinics to support all eligible veterans using VA clinics nationwide.
Paxman is proud to partner with Capri Construction 426 LLC dba Capri Enterprises, a New York-based, nationally certified Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) that provides procurement and consulting services to the VA to improve patient experiences and outcomes.
John Blowers, program manager for Capri, commented, "Capri is excited to partner with Paxman to deliver scalp cooling systems to VA's national healthcare network and provide compassionate care to the heroes these dedicated professionals serve."
The initial installations of Paxman Scalp Cooling Systems with associated scalp cooling cap kits for individual use will be rolled out in the coming weeks and continue through 2024, across 43 individual VA infusion clinics from the VA's national healthcare network in 17 states.
Richard Paxman, CEO, commented: “The cancer team at the VA uses the most up-to-date and cutting-edge technology and Paxman is honored to be chosen as their nationwide supplier of scalp cooling. We wholeheartedly share their ethos of excellence and our commitment to patient-centered personalized cancer care is at the heart of everything we do. Scalp cooling can help to minimize the emotional burden and long-term impact on patients associated with chemotherapy-induced hair loss and know this will have a huge impact on veterans, while further reinforcing scalp cooling as a hallmark of high-quality cancer.”
