Paxman Honoured at the LBBC Butterfly Ball

13 November 2025

On November 8th, the Paxman US team were joined by colleagues from the UK as they had the privilege of attending the Living Beyond Breast Cancer Butterfly Ball. Amidst an evening of glitz, glamour, and sparkle, the team made their way onto the stage to receive the most humbling honour: the LBBC 2025 Andrea and Abraham Morris Impact Award

Richard Paxman delivers his acceptance speech.

This award celebrates Paxman’s legacy of compassion, innovation, and care for over 25 years – from the moment Glenn Paxman was inspired to create the first Paxman scalp cooling system to where we are today, treating over 100,000 patients worldwide each year.

With his family and colleagues standing alongside him, on a stage illuminated by hanging candles, CEO Richard Paxman accepted the award on the company’s behalf. In his acceptance speech, he paid an emotional tribute to his mother, Sue Paxman, whose passing, almost 25 years to the day, continues to inspire the team’s dedication.

“This really couldn’t be a more fitting tribute for my mum and myself, my family, or any of my colleagues. We’re so grateful, and thank you, it means the world.”

 – Richard Paxman

Sue’s story is what drives Paxman’s purpose and vision, and Richard remarked how proud she would be to see both the team receiving this award, and all the patients and families we support every day in her name.

Richard spoke about the progress the company has made both in terms of reimbursement for scalp cooling and our CIPN prevention device, as well as highlighting the personal motivations from those within the team also affected by cancer.

But despite the significant progress in the last 25 years, there is still a long way to go in terms of scalp cooling access and preventing other devastating side effects of chemotherapy.

“We actually treat less than 5% of eligible patients across the world, or across the United States even. But we're committed to changing that, and I do believe that one day this can become a standard of care.”

The speech wrapped up with excitement for what lies ahead, thanking the LBBC team, Paxman’s partners, Glenn & Claire Paxman, Karin Buck and the rest of the Paxman team.

Steven Isakoff MD, PhD, presents the award to Richard Paxman.

As a company, we look forward to a collaborative future with LBBC as we continue to work towards a world where scalp cooling is accessible for all.
